Appointment of Headmaster for St Ignatius College

The Board of Governors for St. Ignatius College is happy to announce the appointment of Mr. Hamilton Maganga as the substantive Headmaster of St. Ignatius College with effect from 1 October 2020.

Mr Maganga holds a B.Sc in Education from Cuba, B.Sc Special Honours in Physics from the University of Zimbabwe. He has been at St. Ignatius College since 2008 and has served as physics and mathematics teacher, Middle House Master, Senior Master, Chairman of the Curriculum Development committee of the strategic plan implementation team, and Chairman of the transition taskforce from Government aided to an independent status. From 1 January 2020 he has been the Acting Headmaster of the rebranded independent private school.

Prior to joining to St. Ignatius College Mr Maganga served as Deputy Head at St. Albert’s Secondary School as well as Gweshe Secondary School.

The Board congratulates Mr Maganga on his appointment as headmaster. Mr Maganga has our best wishes as he leads the College in implementing its strategic plan in line with 21st Century teaching and learning trends.
