St IGNATIUS DONATES COMPUTERS TO SACRED HEART COLLEGE

In keeping with the popular Ignitian adage ‘Men and women for others’ St Ignatius College today donated 40 computers to sister school Sacred Heart College, Banket.Speaking at a brief handover ceremony, St Ignatius Rector, Prof, Fr L Daka said the donation marks a new chapter of friendship and corporation between the two schools.
Today we extend a hand of friendship to Sacred Heart College, Banket which is a Jesuit School still in its developmental infancy. Not so long ago I went to visit and noticed that they have an impressive computer lab but with few computers. The donation marks a partnership whereby Sacred Heart will have the first right of refusal on any donation we might want make. We are adopting them as a sister and and fellow Jesuit School. The computers are still in good condition but no longer of use to us owing to what we recently acquired,” he said.
Speaking at the same podium, Sacred Heart Headmaster, Mr Murodza expressed profound gratitude for the donation.
“I am really grateful for the computers we are receiving today as we are in dire need of them. Our hope is that everyone can study computer science which will now be made possible through this donation,” he said.
On his part, St Ignatius Head boy, Delan Choga emphasised the importance of computers to all students
“Computers have become a necessity and not a luxury as before owing to the physical interaction gap inflicted by COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that the computers will benefit our fellow students in Banket as we hand them over in light of the Ignitian value: Men and women for and with others,” he said.
