The SDC members, through its Vice Chairperson Mrs. Tafadzwa Mubaiwa, officially handed over the all-new All-Weather Multipurpose Sports Courts to the College on Sunday.
The world-class court, which is valued at $53 000, was unveiled during a handover ceremony that was attended by SDC members, the rector, the headmaster, the administrator, parents, and learners. Speaking at the event, Mrs. Mubayiwa expressed her appreciation to the parents for their contributions towards the construction of the court.
“I want to applaud the parents for their contributions in cash and in-kind towards the construction of the court. This is one of the prestigious projects of 2023,” she said.
“This multipurpose court can be used for either basketball, tennis ball, netball, or volleyball. It is a world-class standard court, done to perfection,” she explained.
Mrs. Mubayiwa also added that the court’s proximity to the college entrance gives a very good impression of the college’s brand and also reinforces its commitment towards continuous improvement of its superstructures.
“We are looking to host schools that will also appreciate us as a private college aiming high to meet the best international standards. As I officially hand over this project to the Headmaster Mr. Hamilton Maganga, I thank everyone for every contribution towards this project,” she said.
In his remarks, the College headmaster Mr Maganga applauded the SDC for their unwavering support and commitment to the development of the school which is evidenced through the completion of the Multipurpose Sports Courts.
“I want to thank the SDC representing the parents for achieving this wonderful milestone. It is a world-class multipurpose sporting facility,” said the headmaster.
