The STIGNITE Royal Ball Dinner: An Extraordinary Evening of Elegance
It was a night filled with fun, elegance and community spirit as the College held its second edition of the STIGNITE fundraising dinner at the Golden Conifer Functions Center on Friday the 11th of October 2024.
The highly anticipated event brought together a diverse array of stakeholders, from dedicated parents to the College’s supportive corporate partners and the enthusiastic alumni dating as far back as the Class of 69’. They were all united by a common goal: to show their support for St Ignatius College.
As guests arrived in their finest attire, the air buzzed with anticipation and excitement. The venue was transformed into a scene of sophistication and warmth, with tables adorned with gold stripped chairs and vibrant red floral arrangements, setting the stage for an evening of celebration and giving.
The event was kick-started by speeches from the College Administrator Mr Choto and the SDC Chairman Mr Mudavanhu with both speakers emphasising the importance of the stakeholders’ support in nurturing the minds and talents of the next generation as well as supporting the College’s development programs. In the background, a tv screen played a photo collage of the transformative developments that have taken place at the school since privatisation.
The musical band for the day, Miles Saxophone, was on point as they mesmerised the crowd with some catchy old school tunes. As the night progressed, a live auction added an element of excitement, with attendees enthusiastically bidding on a variety of items, from luxury getaways in Nyanga to sophisticated winery brands, all in the name of helping the school to raise funds for the purchase of the school hall chairs.
There was also a fun best dressed segment where the audience nominated people for the best dressed couple as well as the best dressed lady and gentleman with the winners walking away with elegant gift hampers.
As the final notes of music faded away and guests began to depart, the resounding feeling was one of gratitude and pride. The school’s fundraising dinner had not only met its financial goals but had also strengthened the bonds within the school community, reaffirming the belief that together, we can create a brighter future for all.
The success of the school’s fundraising dinner serves as a testament to the power of collective action and the unwavering commitment of all those who believe in the transformative power of education. It is a reminder that when we come together with a shared purpose and a generous spirit, we can truly make a difference for the betterment of the College. #AMDG
