Greetings and a warm welcome to St Ignatius College. I am sure you will want to be part of the College with its rich legacy and traditions. We are situated on a hill here in Chishawasha, only 25km from the Harare CBD.
We are a boarding only school for boys from Form 1 to Form 6 and girls in Form 5 and 6.
Since our founding almost six decades ago, St Ignatius College has achieved national leader status by forming students for personal, educational and professional excellence and selfless service, who, inspired by faith, have distinguished themselves in their local, national, regional and global communities.
We have on offer a broad based curriculum from Form 1 that provides a variety of course pathways taking into account each individual learner’s ability and aptitude as well as relevant exit profiles. As an accredited Cambridge International School we follow the syllabuses of the Cambridge International Board leading to the sitting for Checkpoint, IGCSE, AS Level and Advanced Level Examinations.
We pride ourselves in values based learning, inspired by Jesuit Pedagogy. The College has fully embraced modern teaching and learning methods and resources including personalized, project-based and research based learning and continuous assessment facilitated by appropriate technologies.
We seek to empower our learners with appropriate skills that are vital in real life and have thus introduced a Technical, Industrial and Vocational Education and Training (TIVET) program that includes agriculture and certification in ICDL and Computer Aided Design.
Teachers in the College share in the College’s ethos and are well qualified, experienced and with proven track records in their areas of expertise.
What makes us unique is that ours is a formation experience for our learners that stretches the intellect and imagination to develop creative and critical minds that will help each learner to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.
